SEROTONIN A CAPPELLA
GRIFFITH UNIVERSITY'S A CAPPELLA CHOIR
Serotonin is an under 30s, mixed vocal group who sing in the a cappella (unaccompanied) style.
Our mission is to spread the sonic recreation of college a cappella.
We are heavily inspired by films and television shows such as Pitch Perfect, Glee and The Sing-Off. Our repertoire currently spans several genres and continues to grow.
Our enthusiasm and passion for quality a cappella singing has given us some amazing opportunities since our establishment in 2013. Serotonin is proud to be the 2016 University Division National Champions of Vocal Australia's Australian A Cappella Awards.
We have also had the pleasure of performing to a sold-out audience at Carnegie Hall in New York City (2014), have represented the Gold Coast in China at the Chengdu International Sister Cities Music Festival (2019 & 2020) and have opened concerts for the talented a cappella groups Straight No Chaser and The Idea Of North. In recognition of our achievements, we were presented with the "Most Outstanding Achievement By A Club" Award at the 2019 GUGC Student Guild Awards for our representation of Griffith University and The Gold Coast in Chengdu.
Serotonin is proud to be GUGC's Club Of The Year for 2020, with many other prestigious awards being presented to the club at the 2020 Student Guild Awards.
